Maggio Family Announces Return of Lorain Raceway Park for Three Special Events to Close the 2026 Season
South Amherst, Ohio – After sitting dormant since September of 2025, Lorain Raceway Park is set to come back to life for three exciting events to close out the 2026 racing season.
The Maggio family is proud to announce the return of racing to the historic facility, bringing competitors and fans back together for a limited schedule that celebrates the track’s rich tradition while looking toward its future.
Making this comeback possible is the tremendous support of Nicole and Bryan of Hook N Haul Towing, along with their son, Dakota. Their commitment as pivotal event sponsors has been instrumental in bringing racing back to Lorain Raceway Park this season.
“We’re incredibly excited to open the gates once again and give racers and fans the opportunity to make more memories at Lorain Raceway Park,” said the Maggio family. “This wouldn’t be possible without the generous support and belief of Nicole, Bryan, and Dakota from Hook N Haul Towing. Their partnership has played a huge role in making these events a reality.”
The 2026 schedule will feature three marquee events:
Saturday, August 8 – The Comeback
Friday-Saturday, September 25-26 – Trident Nationals & Jackpot Nationals
Friday-Sunday, October 23-25 – Halloween Festival of Speed Cavalcade
Each event is expected to draw racers and fans from across the region as one of Ohio’s most iconic racing venues comes back to life. Whether you’re a longtime supporter who grew up at Lorain Raceway Park or someone experiencing the track for the first time, these weekends promise exciting competition, family-friendly entertainment, and a celebration of the racing community.
Saturday, August 8th’s event will feature Open Wheel Modifieds, Street Stocks, Ace Racing League and Compacts. Although this event is close to a month away, we feel it’s the perfect date for this show. With neighboring race track, Midvale Speedway having a Destruction Night, this will open up the opportunity to allow Crate Modifieds, Street Stocks and Compacts to come enjoy The County!
Additional event details, classes, payouts, schedules, and ticket information will be announced in the coming weeks.
The Maggio family looks forward to welcoming everyone back through the gates as Lorain Raceway Park roars back to life for an unforgettable finish to the 2026 season.
