Mercer 9.05.26 race preview

Michaels Mercer Raceway Park, presented by Sunbelt Rentals and Ermie’s Distributing, will once again present a super six Saturday night program to complete lucky race night number 7 on Saturday night September 5th. This will be the first race held on Labor Day weekend since the 2010s.

On the card will be the Mercer Mercantile IMCA RaceSaver 305 Sprint Cars, Top Shelf Trucking DIRT 602 Crate Sportsman Modifieds, king Forest products SCDRA, mini stocks, Crown Vics, and, making their 2nd appearances of the year, the 270cc Micro Sprints who brought a 29 car field last race night and the mod lites.

The point battle for our three regular divisions is coming down to a competitive finish with the final night of points being on September 19th.

2021 Mercer Mercantile IMCA Racesaver 305 sprint car champ Jarrett Rosencrance with 1 win is 14 points ahead of Brent Brunkenhoefer, and 41 points ahead of two time track champ Vivian Jones.

In the top shelf trucking DIRT 602 crate sportsman modified 2024 track champion Eric Gabany with two feature wins has a comfortable 50 point lead over one time winner Logan Lockhart with veteran Billy Adams 60 points behind the leader.

The King Forest products SCDRA mini stocks so far have completed three events, and Josh Eakman with one win is leading the way by just four points over Randy Ealy and Andrew Thompson 34 points behind.

The micro sprints returned last week after a long absence since 2019 with a massive 29 car count in the pit area and are expecting an even larger field this week. Millersburg, Ohio’s Skylar Cline became the 14th different driver to win a micro sprint race at Mercer going back to 1997.

Logan Lewis won the Mark Marucci tribute last week for the mod light division and many are expected to return this week.

The Crown Vics have been ultra competitive around the area this year with very decent car counts with Dave Hanshaw Jr. picking up his career first win last week.

Admission & Schedule

Grandstands:
Adults — $20
Seniors — $18
13 and under — FREE

Pit Passes:
Adults — $35
Seniors -$30
Kids 5 and under — $20

Pit gates will open at 4:00 PM, and the grandstands will open at 4:00 PM. Hot laps will begin at 6:15 PM, with the first heat taking the green at 7:00 PM.

All drivers must have working raceivers and use the red AMB transponder or yellow transponder system.

Track Information
Concessions will be open. Coolers must fit between the bleachers, and no glass is permitted.

Alcohol is permitted, and lawn-chair seating is permitted in the grassy area by the fence.
