THE “NORTHCOAST NITEMARE” STRIKES AGAIN AS WATSON, ELLER, HOLDEN, AND BAILEY ALSO BAG VICTORIES AT RACEWAY 7!

CLOSE RACING SUPPLY RACE REPORT:
Monroe Center, OH (Aug 21, 2026) By Marc Hoegerl: It was a beautiful night for racing in the lower Great Lakes region, as Raceway 7 would record night # 8 of 2026 in the record books.

Northeastern Ohio’s Jeff Watson would lead from green to checkered in the Evergreen Lake Park Campground RUSH Crate Late Model a-main. This would be Watson’s 2nd feature win of the season at Raceway 7. July 24th feature winner Ashton Briggs would close the gap in the late stages with Watson getting hung-up in lapped traffic, but would have to settle for 2nd. Last week’s winner Breyton Santee was 3rd as Jamie Wrightsman and point’s leader Billy Henry rounded out the top 5.

It was all Chardon, Ohio’s Nate Young, dubbed as the “ Northcoast Nitemare” in the Campbell’s Mini Storage UMP Open Wheel Modified feature. Young would conquer the field finishing 4.07 seconds ahead of runner up Bud Watson. This would be Young’s 2nd feature win of the season as well as his 21st career feature win in the class at Raceway 7, putting him 6th on the divisions all-time feature win list. Bud Watson, Wyatt Scott, Josh McDonald after an early race incident, and Joel Watson would round out the top 5. Young would also come out on top in the evenings King of the Hill match race event.

Erie’s Zack Eller would once again show he’s the man to beat in the Raceway 7’s Lakeview Ford Econo Mods. Eller would keep just enough distance between himself and 2025 points champion Jake Eucker to score his 6th Raceway Lakeview Ford Econo Mod feature win of 2026. Eucker would maintain 2nd at the finish, 13th place starter Garrett Calvert was 3rd, Dennis Lunger was 4th, and Jason Noe with another solid run was 5th.

Kinzu Countries Kole Holden would hold off a late race charge from Poland’s Jacob Rutana to score his 4th Nicky B’s Truck & RV Collision RUSH Sports Mod feature win of the season at Raceway 7. Rutana would have to settle for 2nd, as Brandon Tercho, Doug Rutana, and Nolan Burns would complete the top 5.

Newcomer Devin Haley would grab the lead from race leader Devin Haefke on lap 4 and cruise the remaining 8 laps to score his first ever 21st Century Energy Min Stock feature win at Raceway 7. Following the Butler County, PA native across the line would be June 26th winner Steve Campbell, Hermitage, PA’s Andrew Thompson, Devin Haefke, and Conneaut Lake’s Justin Bailey.
