Trent Marshall gets career first win in RUSH Sprints

With the Peoples Natural Gas 410 Sprints enjoying a post-Silver Cup siesta, the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Sprints and the 305 Sprints filled the void along with the Glassmere Fuel Service Super Late Models, Diehl Automotive Big Block Modifieds and the Millerstown Pic-A-Part Pro Stocks for another Fast Friday of Fab4+ Racing Revved Up with the Marburger Farm Dairy.

Erick Rudolph had a rough trip to the Action Track, but drew the outside pole for the feature alongside Brad Rapp. Rapp led the opening three laps before Rudolph took the lead on a lap four restart en route to his second Lernerville win of the season. Rapp briefly faded to fourth on that restart, but quickly raced back into third and waged war with Jeremiah Shingledecker, Garrett Krummert, and Rex King Jr. the whole way to the checkered flag, eventually prevailing for second ahead of King in third, Krummert in fourth and Shingledecker in fifth. JC Boyer, King, and Shingledecker won their heat races, and Karson King won the Tomson Scrap Metal B-Main. In the season long point standings King leads Krummert by four markers with three nights remaining. Ayden Cipriano (-29) is the only other driver within a night’s worth of points of the leaders.

In the Glassmere Fuel Service Super Late Models, Levi Yetter patiently waited for the right opportunity to pass early leader (and his uncle) Kenny Schaltenbrand on lap 19, then held off a furious late race battle that also included Colton Flinner and Jared Miley. At the checkered flag, Yetter claimed his second win of the season, followed closely by Flinner, Schaltenbrand, and Miley. Eric Wilson rounded out the top five, and John Garvin and Colin Casale were heat race winner. Conspicuous by his absence last night, Alex Ferree maintains the point lead, but it shrunk from 35 to three over Schaltenbrand in second, then Yetter (-9), Miley (-18), and Flinner (-26).

Friday night was another family affair in the Millerstown Pic-A-Part Pro Stocks as the Koteles, Dietz and Fosnaught boys made up almost half of the field and they all factored into the results throughout the night. Cody Koteles and Jason Fosnaught won the two heat races. The feature redraw had all three Koteles boys in the first three starting positions, and a DNS by Chase Lambert resulted in Jake & Tyler Dietz starting side-by-side on row throw, and Hayden & Jason Fosnaught starting nose-to-tail on rows four and five. Last week’s feature winner Corey McPherson was not present, and points leader Brett Hutira was a DNF in his heat due to damage sustained after contact with Jake Dietz during heat race action, and resulted in Hutira starting from the tail of the feature. At the drop of the green flag, Cody jumped out to the early lead ahead of Logan, then was chased the rest of the way to the checkers by Tyler Dietz. Positions three through six were swapped multiple times, but at the checkers it was Jake Dietz in third followed by Logan Koteles, Hayden Fosnaught, and Brett Hutira. A strong finish by Jake Dietz combined with a rough night for Hutira resulted in a change atop the point standings. Dietz leads Hutira by a single point, with Logan (-4) and Cody (-11) Koteles still in the mix.

Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Sprint Cars brought the second largest car count to the Action Track Friday night, but after backsliding from the front row of his heat, Trent Marshall took the early lead from the pole and never looked back en route to his first career RUSH Sprint Car victory. Veterans John Mollick and Arnie Kent made him earn it by chasing him to the podium, while young gun Logen Lockhart and Gale Ruth Jr. rounded out the top five. Ruth and Brayden Blackshear were heat race victors.

The 305 Sprints capped off the night with a great battle out front between Jacob Gomola and Greg Dobrosky. Dobrosky is the all time division wins leader, but despite his best efforts, (and a wise decision in lapped traffic that easily could have wiped out both drivers and a lapped car), he could not get around Gomola to add to his win total. Gomola is westbound for the Belleville 305 Nationals next weekend. Jim Pattock, Tim Robertson and Roman Jones rounded out the top five. Dobrosky and Jarrett Rosencrance won the 305 heats.

The full slate of Fab4 Racing Revved Up with the Marburger Farm Dairy returns next Friday, July 31 featuring a driver autograph session from 5:30-6:15 that will include a kids bike giveaway from the Diehl Mods drivers.
