HENRY, WATSON, ELLER, HOLDEN AND PORTER WOULD ALL SHINE IN RACEWAY 7’s 2026 OPENER!

CLOSE RACING SUPPLY RACE REPORT

Monroe Center, OH (June 12, 2026) by Marc Hoegerl:
Raceway 7 would finally kick off the 2026 campaign with beautiful late spring weather and a large crowd of supporters to take in a heated night of racing at the newly reconfigured Ashtabula County speed plant.
.
Just to take caution because of the heavily damaged track surface from the winter thaw and well over a foot of rain throughout the spring, all major feature events on the evening would run 15 laps instead of the traditional 20 laps.

Saegertown, PA’s Bill Henry would pick up where he left off in 2025, grabbing the lead from Jacob Peterson on lap 5 and would never look back to claim his first Evergreen Lake Park Campground RUSH Crate Late Models feature of the season at Raceway 7. Trailing the 2024, 2025 champ across the line would be Jacob Peterson, Conneaut’s Jeff Watson, Albert Bull, and Will Pinckney.

Conneaut’s Joel Watson would inherit the lead on lap 9 as two-time champ Nate Young would become sideways in turn 2coming to a stop. Watson would go the rest of the distance unscathed to score his 65th career feature victory in the Campbell’s Mini Storage UMP Open wheel Modifeds at Raceway 7. 2025 champ Josh McDonald would ride home 2nd, Percy McDonald was 3rd, Zac Etzel was 4th, as Nate Arp would round out the top 5.

Being fast all night Zack Eller would waste no time getting to the front from his 3rd place starting position, leading all 15 circuits to preserve his 4th career Lakeview Ford Econo Mods victory at Raceway 7 and his first of the season at the famed Monroe Township oval. 2024 champ Garrett Calvert would secure 2nd, all-time winner in the class at raceway 7 Jacob Eucker was 3rd, Madison’s Jason Noe with a fine outing was 4th, and Gary Sullivan would round out the top 5.

Warren County PA’s Kole Holden would hold off a fierce race long challenge from Poland’s Doug Rutana to score his first Nicky B’s Truck & RV Collision RUSH Modified feature of the year at Raceway 7. Rutana would have to settle for 2nd, as Doug English, Jacob Rutana, and Nolan Burns would round out the events top 5.

Local favorite Branden Porter would conquer the field in Raceway 7’s 21st Century Energy newly formed Crown Vic class, nailing down his first ever feature win in the class at Raceway 7, in only its second ever appearance. Amelia Clay won the class’s inaugural appearance back in September of last season. Following the Ashtabula County native across the line would be Dave Hanshaw Jr.,Mike Barr, John Kish, and Steve Horvath.
