REW, Pa. — After rain washed out a scheduled three-day event last week, Bradford Speedway officially opened its 72nd season on Sunday night, highlighted by Jake Wilber’s thrilling late-race pass to win the 25-lap RUSH Late Model feature.
In the premier RUSH Late Model event, Kurt Stebbins and Jeremy Wonderling traded the lead side-by-side through the early portions of the race. As the feature neared its conclusion, Wilber joined the fray to initiate a three-wide battle for the top spot. Exiting Turn 2, Wilber dove underneath both Wonderling and Stebbins, taking the lead and holding on for the victory.
Oakley Terrill secured his first career victory in the Sharp Mini Late Model division, fending off Cameron Sherwood’s No. 9S in a 15-lap battle. Terrill and Sherwood drag-raced to the checkered flag to top the 13-car field. Travis Asel earned hard-charger honors, advancing past half the field to finish sixth.
In the 20-lap Pure Stock feature, Zach Hamer capitalized on his outside-pole starting position, driving his No. 7A machine to victory after turning away relentless inside challenges from Joe Skinner.
Trevor Putt claimed the 20-lap SCDRA Mini Stock feature, besting last year’s dominant driver, Logan Ganoung, in a race-long, side-by-side duel that left the lead duo well ahead of the rest of the field.
The Crown Vic division made its track debut Sunday, with Josh Tidd outdueling Kyle Wiser to become the first Crown Vic feature winner in Bradford Speedway history.
Chase Tidd closed out the evening by capturing his first win of the season in the Kids Class nightcap, which featured a strong opening-night car count.
