Tri-City Raceway Park Preps for Thrilling Western PA Sprint Speedweek Finale
Franklin, PA — Tri City Raceway Park is gearing up for one of its most highly anticipated events of the season, the thrilling finale of Western Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek this Sunday.
Since Race Director Tyler Beichner revived the historic Speedweek tradition, the mini-series has delivered four high-stakes races over its span, overcoming just one cancellation by Mother Nature. This Sunday’s event marks a major milestone, serving as the 488th time sprint cars will take on the challenging Franklin half-mile.
If recent history is any indication, fans are in for a historic night. Out of the four Speedweek winners at Tri-City over the past five years, three celebrated their very first career victory at the track. Bradley Howard took home the hardware in 2021, Mark Smith claimed the checkered flag in 2023, and Steven Snyder Jr. won last year. The lone exception is regional standout A.J. Flick, who was victorious in 2022 but had already tasted victory at the speedway before.
After weather completely wiped out the 2024 event, last year’s race produced one of the most memorable finishes in Western PA Speedweek history. Steven Snyder Jr. executed a stunning, last-lap pass on Jeremy Weaver in turn four, stealing the victory from Weaver, who had dominated the entire night. With a stellar field of cars expected to pack the pit area this weekend, there is a strong chance another first-time winner could shake things up and add their name to the Tri-City history books.
Fans will get a full night of fast-paced action. In addition to the headline 410 Sprint Cars, the Complete Car Care Center RUSH Sprint Cars and the Mini Stocks are also locked into Sunday evening’s racing program.
Time trials are scheduled to get underway shortly after 6:00 PM, with the green flag set to wave for all the racing action at 6:30 PM.
