BUSTI, N.Y.

Stateline Speedway’s points season came to a close Saturday with a chilly but electric Championship Night, as titles and trophies were decided across every division. With crisp air in the hills of Busti, it was one final chance for drivers to put their names into the history books before the fall specials take over.

The headline moment belonged to Jason Genco, who delivered on his season-long goal. Starting second, Genco charged to victory in the RUSH Late Models, surpassing Max Blair as Stateline’s all-time wins leader in the division at the speedway. The triumph also secured him the 2025 RUSH Late Model track championship, capping off a dominant year.

The Super Late Models saw a rare appearance from Mike Knight, who used the night as a Fall Brawl tune-up — and left no doubt about his speed. Knight dominated to get the win, while Ryan Scott sealed the points title with a great season.

In the Open Modifieds, veteran Greg Johnson turned patience into victory, working his way from fourth to the front in a surgical drive reminiscent of David Scott’s win a week earlier. Johnson had already clinched the track championship, while Troy Johnson thrilled the crowd with a charge through 10 positions.

The RUSH Pro Mods saw Josh Wilcox locked down the championship, but it was the legendary Al Brewer who schooled the field with a commanding feature win.

It was an intense night for the Pro Stocks, with Jason Black and Chris Withers entering the night dead even in the points. Starting near each other, Black prevailed in both the feature and the championship battle.

The RUSH Stock Cars produced a thriller, as Kaden Michael made a late-race pass on Cole Strickland to take the checkered. Meanwhile, Dar Diegelman put his name into history as the first division champion since the class returned to Stateline.

In Challengers, John Mease salvaged a tough season with a hard-fought win over Pete Volpe. Volpe’s runner-up wasn’t enough to overtake Holden Heineman, who was crowned track champion by a slim 29 points.

Finally, the Sharp Mini Late Models capped the night with Chris Whyte fending off a fierce charge from Jacob Hinkson to claim both the feature win and the championship in dramatic fashion.

Next up for Stateline Speedway: the Fall Brawl, a two-day spectacle featuring twin Super Late Model shows and more, set for September 12–13.
