AL PRIESTER MEMORIAL $1000 TO WIN FOR 602 CRATES; SCDRA MINI STOCK $2500 TO WIN INVITATIONAL; IMCA RACESAVER 305 SPRINTS HIGHLIGHT ACTION FOR SATURDAY AUGUST 9TH AT MERCER.

After a 2 week layoff Michaels Mercer raceway presented by Sunbelt rentals will be back in action with the second annual Al Priester memorial for the Top shelf trucking DIRT 602 crate sportsman paying at least 1000 to win; The King’s Forestry Products SCDRA mini stocks will race for the highest purse in mini stock history at Mercer paying $2500 to win sponsored by Mercer Mercantile; the IMCA racesaver 305 sprints will also be in competition along with autograph night for the 305s behind the grandstands prior to heat race action; and 48 lucky kids will get “racing back to school” book bags filled with school supplies.

On July 6, 1970 Allen Priester later to be known as “Big Al” was born the son of George and Edna Priester. He was the cocaptain of the football team at Kennedy Christian high school and graduated from Sharpsville high school in 1988. Allen enjoyed swimming water skiing and boating on the lake. He also enjoyed four wheeling riding his motorcycle and snowmobiling. Allen married his wife Tammy on August 10, 1991. He started his family in 1992. Allen started his love for racing with his father beginning with a stock car and moving onto modifieds. Al enjoyed racing with his son with their family and friends in the stands. Al also enjoy spending time with his grandson Levi and later enjoyed cuddling with his granddaughter Kinsley. Al passed away May 15 2024 from esophageal and brain cancer.The Al Priester memorial will pay a minimum of $1000 to win for the top shelf trucking DIRT 602 crate sportsman will possible extra lap money and purse money.

The King’s forestry products SCDRA mini stocks will compete in the richest race in division history sponsored by Mercer Mercantile and paying $2500 to win.The event should draw cars from many states and our local will be ready to defend their home turf. There will be Time trials 6-8 cars at a time and there is a one time $50 registration fee for the touring series race payable to the SCDRA that evening. The rained out feature will be made up at a later date.

It will be Autograph night for IMCA racesaver 305 sprints as the fans will be able to meet all the drivers and see their cars up close prior to heat races approximately 6:00. 

Grandstand admission will be $20 stands $18 seniors 13 and under are free.

Pits will be $35 

Pit gates will open at 4 PM

Grandstand will open at 5 pm

Hot laps and mini stock qualifying  at 6:15 and the first heat takes the green shortly after.

All drivers must have working raceivers and use the red ambit or yellow transponder system. 

Concessions will be open. Coolers must fit between the bleachers with no glass. Alcohol is permitted. Lawn chair seating is permitted in the grassy area by the fence. We are a cash or credit facility at all locations.

For anyone coming to Mercer The rodeway inn is our tracks host hotel..just off of I-80 on rt 19 just 2 miles south of the racetrack. The Inn has plenty of parking for haulers and also has a bar lounge area with a Mexican restaurant.
