OWS Josh Neff Wiggins Memorial
The 6th Annual Josh Neff Wiggins Memorial race at Lorain Raceway Park is in the books and it was a thriller. The event sponsored by Jones Bones BBQ went 50 laps with side by side action throughout the field. 22 cars took the green flag (25 in the pits). The #5 of Chris Hamilton started 16th and methodically moved forward through the field to eventually take the lead. His lead would be challenged by the #8 of Jesse Fischbach and the #12 of Jeff Kuykendall. Fischbach would falter falling to third but Kuykendall kept Hamilton close and on his toes. Midway through the event the #24 of Jeremie Wiggins would tap the wall out of turn 2 sending him hard into the #48 of Matt Wilson. Wilson would get turned head first into the Backstretch wall and flip violently coming to a rest in the woods off of turn 3. The #5 of Blake Lawson was also caught in between and would go over the hill in a pile of crumpled metal. All drivers exited the cars under their own power and all verbally gave the “ok”. Matt Wilson was checked at the track multiple times by staff and a medic. Whnlen we went back green Hamilton and Kuykendall kept the battle hit but ultimately would fall short. Chris Hamilton goes on to win the 6th Annual Josh Neff Wiggins Memorial to claim the cool $2750.00 check and the championship style belt trophy. The runner-up position goes to the #12 of Jeff Kuykendall and third goes to the #8 of Jesse Fischbach.
