Holden Takes 5th Annual Lumadue Memorial for SB Mods at Hidden Valley
For Immediate Release August 1, 2025
Clearfield, PA – Jimmy Holden of Tiona piloted the Mike Stine owned 7s Small Block Modified to his second win in the Fay Lumadue Memorial Friday night at Hidden Valley Speedway.
Other new winners on the Lumadue Memorial include: Ryan Shaffner of Shilo won his first Pure Stock feature in a year, Eric Luzier of Clearfield picked up the Little’s Drive In Four Cylinder feature, his first win in five years and Dave Blazavich of Marion Center picked up his first ever 600 Micro Sprint win at HVS.
Gary Little of Clearfield earned his third Semi Late Model feature win of the season while Tim Steis of St. Mary’s won his fifth feature of the season by picking up the June 27 make up feature at the start of the night.
Gary Little and Jeremy Lippert brought the Semi Late Feature off turn four towards Sam McClellan’s green flag, with Little taking the lead and Lippert a close second. A quick caution on lap three regrouped the field, and Little continued to set the pace with Lippert still second. While Lippert was trying to reel in Little, he was also trying to hold off Dan Gill, as the pair put on a great battle for second. Gill eventually took over second and Lippert was now third. As the race was winding down, Gill was closing in on Little, and when the double checkered flags flew, it was all Little getting the win, over Gill by less than a car length as Gill simply ran out of time. The top five were: Little, Gill, Lippert, Zack Gustafson and Dan Beatty. Little and Lippert split heat wins.
The show of the night, the Fifth Annual Fay Lumadue Memorial for the Small Block Modifieds saw a field of 9 make their way to the speedway, with Jimmy Holden and Shannon Casher on the front row. When McClellan waved the green flag, Holden was shot out of a cannon and on the move, pulling away from Casher and Craig Casher was running third. They all opened up a slight lead over each other as the battle for fourth was heating up, between Hayden Holden, Levi Picard and Aaron Casher were all jockeying for position and swapping spots several times a lap, but when the double checkers waved over the non-stop event, it was Jimmy Holden winning, over Shannon Casher, Craig Casher, Picard and Hayden Holden. Aaron Casher and Jimmy Holden won the heats.
The opening lap of the Pure Stock feature was one of the most exciting starts fans could have ever witnessed, as Eric Lucas and Mitch Stiles brought the field to the start, as Austin Fenton, Tim Steis and Ryan Shaffner made it a five car battle into the first and second turns, they were still jockeying for position going into turns three and four, with Lucas leading at the line on lap one. They were still under the proverbial blanket the next lap, with Shaffner somehow finding a way into the lead on lap two from third. Shaffner then held off all challenges the rest of the way, as Steis tried to get back out front, but simply did not have the right set up. When McClellan’s double checkered flags waved, it was Shaffner with his first win in a year, over Steis, Stiles, Lucas and Fenton. Lucas and Stiles split heat wins.
The Littles Drive In Four Cylinder saw Allen Robison and Jason Elensky on the front row, with Elensky darting into the lead at the start and pulling away from the field. He was in his own little world while Robison and Eric Luzier were fighting for second with Brett Hanley and Isaac Exley watching them battle and joining in. While second through fifth were battling, Elensky was off on his own, but eventually that battle for second became a battle for the lead, when Elensky broke exiting turn four on lap 12, changing the entire complex of the race. Luzier and Robison now found themselves fighting for the lead, and when they crossed the finish line on lap 15, Robison was less than a car length from the win. The official top five were: Luzier, getting his first feature win in five years over Robison, Hanley, Exley and Ryan Lippert. Heat wins were divided between Robison and Elensky.
The 600 Micros made a rare appearance at the speedway showing up with 9 cars, as Lauren Stringfellow and Dave Blazavich brought the field to the start, it was Blazavich who took the lead and set the pace. He was holding off Stringfellow early on then Stringfellow had to hold off JR McCutcheon who was able to overtake Stringfellow on lap12. McCutchen was trying to reel in Blazavich while Stringfellow tried to regain her position over McCutchen, but when the checkers flew it was Blazavich winning his first Hidden Valley win in a 600 Micro over McCutchen, Stringfellow, Eli Kennedy and Izzy Landis. Landis and D. Blazavich won the heats.
Tim Steis led the make up Pure Stock feature from June 27 from flag to flag to get the win over a smaller than usual field. Eric Lucas was a close second with Austin Fenton third and Parker Hemphill fourth.
